Nicolette Atkins becomes Director of Operations and Marketing at LABA

Nicolette Atkins becomes Director of Operations and Marketing at LABA Los Angeles Ballet Academy's Artistic Director Andrea Paris-Gutierrez is pleased to announce that Nicolette Atkins will be joining the LABA staff and faculty full time beginning August 15, 2016.   Continuing as a senior teacher working with dancers in the student division, Nicolette will expand her schedule to include additional classes, private coaching and mentoring students at LABA.   As Director of Operations and Marketing, she will also incorporate administrative duties into her role at LABA, overseeing staff, streamlining front desk and day-to-day operations, and managing the auditions process and operations of our Summer Intensive program. Nicolette will be involved in all LABA events, entries and performance opportunities; act as the liaison with outside organizations; and guide promotion and marketing for Los Angeles Youth Ballet and Theatrics Dance Company performances including our fall production, Momentum, Spring performance and the annual recital.
In addition to her passion for ballet, teaching and nurturing young dancers, Nicolette brings over 25 years of experience as an arts administrator to the LABA community. She served as Director of Marketing for Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra for 14 years and was part of the marketing team that put LA Opera on the map.  She trained as a dancer in her native South Africa, graduating from the Pretoria High School for Art, Ballet and Music with a distinction in Ballet Performance, and attaining - also with distinction - an Associate ballet teacher's qualification in the Cecchetti Method. Her academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts and a post-graduate teacher's diploma from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. With this perfect blend of background and experience, we are thrilled to have Nicolette play a more prominent role at LABA.
